About Me...

I am a 23 year old minister of the Gospel. I felt the call of God early in my life but ran from the call initially. Now I am a full Gospel Minister and currently hold license with the Assemblies of God. I am now Pastor at Open Arms Assembly of God Church. I love working with the youth of today but still enjoy the young at heart. I believe that Jesus is soon to return and I want you to be ready for that Great Day.

The Courtroom

Author: Charlie Dykes /

In the span of time, we are all standing in this courtroom. We all are guilty of the sins that are on our record and for those sins we are to stand trial. You have two choices, you can either defend yourself or you can choose an attorney. In front of the Judge is a crazy looking man; he is reciting sins of those who are stepping up to the microphone. The lists are long and embarrassing but he keeps on listing their charges one by one. The Judge is there before you and you see where people standing in front of you are condemned for their sins, no matter how hard they try, their words are not enough. Time after time, these people step up to the microphone and the judge asks them… “How do you plead?” Suddenly you realize that your turn is soon to come. You listen as the person in front of you is approached by a court worker. “Are you going to try and defend yourself or are you going to allow this attorney to stand in on your behalf?” The court worker goes on to say more. “This attorney is already paid the price for your sin. He paid that price a long time ago and all you have to do is just put your trust in Him, He wins every time. The best part of it all, is he doesn’t charge much, he just ask that you rely on Him; he guarantees your freedom.” The guy in front of me stops and looks around and then down at his hands. He begins to figure up something on his hands. He then turns to the court worker and says, “No thanks, I Got this one.” Before the court worker can say anything else the guy steps up to the microphone and just like every time before, that crazy little man in front of the judge begins to list all the man's charges…he begins like this…
Adultery with his neighbor's wife…Alcoholism that destroyed his family…need I say more…He has no regard for you, your Honor, nor for any law set in place. This man deserves to die and die he shall. The Judge turns and looks at the man and says, “ How do you plead?” The man looks up at the Judge, “Sir, the charge of Adultery is just crazy. I went over to help my neighbor out, and besides my wife wouldn’t treat me like she treated me, It wasn’t my fault. And as far as disrespecting you, sir, I went to church every Sunday and I even helped that pastor every single time he asked me to. That alone should be enough to make it all right. Won’t that work? Isn’t that enough?” As I turned back to the judge I noticed that the Judge and the attorney had tears rolling down their faces. The judge turns to the defendant slowly, “I’m sorry, The charges stand. You have been found guilty of all of your sin. Depart from me. Your sentence is to spend forever in eternal torment.” As the man tries to justify his decisions, he is quickly dragged off kicking and screaming…No I’m sorry……

Then the Court worker comes up to me and says “Are you going to try and defend yourself or are you going to allow this attorney to stand in on your behalf.” The court worker goes on to say more. “This attorney doesn’t charge much, he just asks that you rely on Him; he guarantees your freedom.” As tears begin to flow down my face I ask the court worker, “How can I be sure that he will help me?” The Court worker turns back and says, “I’m sure because he loves you so much that he has already paid the price for your sin and for mine, all you have to do is just let him take your case.” As I glanced over at the attorney, I see love written all over his face and so I turn to the Court worker and nod. As I step up towards the microphone, that little man with all those rap sheets begins to list off the charges. He lists things I had almost forgotten about, A thief, a liar, a porn addict, a drug addicted alcoholic, a fornicator and pervert. The list continues to go on as charge after charge is rattled off when suddenly the Attorney steps up to the microphone and says, “Your honor, I object. I have my client’s record in hand and I see none of those charges. Your Honor, can you please verify that he has my Client’s record.” The Judge turns to that little guy with my file in his hand and says, “ May I see that file?” The little guy gladly hands him that file as he is sure that all these charges are right. Suddenly the Judge turns and looks at the attorney and says “Objection sustained.” I gasp. I knew those charges were mine. Why was he not proceeding with my file in his hand. Immediately the little crazy guy yells, “What! Look at that chart close for it has the defendant's name right there on that file!” The Judge looks once again and says this “The name on this file is not the name of the defendant but is the name of the Attorney and inside this file it says that all charges are paid in full at time of death of Jesus Christ, Attorney at Law.” I knew I was guilty but somehow, someway all my charges had been erased. That file that started out all dirty and yellow was now a Crimson Red. The Judge looked at me and said, “All charges are hereby dropped. Case Dismissed.”
